Sometimes gender is taken as an indicator of a person's abilities and interests. Such an assumption is wrong and harmful at times. Some of the existing beliefs are -
- Women are not good in math
- The role of a woman is to marry and have children, whereas that of a man is to work and earn money
- Women are not good in sports
